William Louis Kring, 79, of Creekside Drive in Bryan, died Tuesday in a local hospital. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Matthew the Evangelist Catholic Church in Houston. Burial will be at Magnolia Cemetery in Houston. A rosary was recited at Memorial Funeral Chapel Tuesday night. Kring, a resident of Bryan for five years, was born in Skidmore. He was a retired electrician and a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Bryan. He was past treasurer of the International Brotherhood of Electric Workers Local 716 in Houston and once played semi-professional minor league baseball in Houston. Kring was an avid hunter and fisherman. Survivors include his wife, Beatrice Kring of Bryan; four daughters, Mrs. William (Judy) Bierwirth of Houston, Mrs. Terry (Patty) Hall of Austin, Mrs. Robert N. (Peggy) White of Bryan and Mrs. Bruce (Betty) Coffer of Bay City; a sister, Agnes Ficklin of Refugio; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
